Sanctification

In God's perfect light there is much sin which we would not term as being wrong. We say and do things that are not perfect in God's eyes. Paul recognized this clearly when he said: "For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. Then he adds: "Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me." Romans 7:15-17.

This "unconscious sin" he calls - in Romans 8:13 - "deeds of the body". We can understand, when we reflect over our lives and by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, that there was a lot we could have done much better, and with more wisdom. God chastizes us so that we can participate in His holiness (Hebrews 12:10). Peter calls this: "participating in godly nature". In this way, we can grow in all of the Christian virtues, for example in patience, in meekness, in mercy, in recognition, in love, in being mild, in being good, in having peace and joy.
